A Wonderful Night
Something wonderful happened that night in Bethlehem,
We are not amazed that the Judean hills were filled with the golden music of paradise.
We do not wonder that Bethlehem's skies were filled with angels.
We do not marvel that plain, simple shepherds
Were suddenly caught up in the rapture
Of being included in the greatest event in history.
It is not amazing to us
That the wise men saw a strange,
New brilliant star in the heavens.
It is no mystery to us that heaven took note,
Even when earth could not provide a room.
For those who gazed at the baby in that manger
Were viewing for the very first time in human history…
God incarnate in the flesh.
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us,
And we beheld the glory,
The glory of the only begotten of the Father.
Born that night in Bethlehem
Is the pinnacle of heavenly glory,
Proclaimed by God,
Acknowledged by angels, and feared by devils.
He is the living, personal, earthly manifestation of God.
He is our Lord, our God and our Savior
