1 Peter 1:3-5 (MSG), “What a God we have! And how fortunate we are to have him, this Father of our Master Jesus! Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we’ve been given a brand-new life and have everything to live for, including a future in heaven—and the future starts now! God is keeping careful watch over us and the future. The Day is coming when you’ll have it all—life healed and whole.”
So when God is saying we are, “kept by the power of God,” it means He is keeping careful watch over us for now and for all eternity! When God saved us He didn’t just start us on our way to heaven, and He did do that! He didn’t save us and leave us on our own to struggle through life alone. Peter, writing by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit wants to impress upon us that God wants His children to feel secure in Him, so he writes that we are, “kept by the power of God,” The author of Hebrews writes, “For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5).
